Activate TAPI- driver again after Windows Update

Please go through the steps from level 1, 2 to, if applicable, level 3 one after the other

Brief instructions level 1 (Set telephony service to “ automatically ”):

  1. Open services for example by pressing the Windows- button, then simply typing the word “Dienste ”and then using it to select “Dienste (App)”. Put through one [ double click ] on the word [ Telephony ] ( not telephony service ) den [ start type ] on [Automatic] and confirm this setting with [OK].
  2. Make sure to restart the PC afterwards except if the service was already on automatic, you can go directly to level 2.

Brief instructions level 2 (Reset driver registration and add the desired driver again):

  1. Quit Outlook.
  2. Open Telephone and modem For example, by pressing the Windows- key, then simply typing the word “Modem ”and then using it to select “elefon und Modem (Systemsteuer)”. Click on the tab [ extended ], per Double click on your driver you open the dialog for [ Configure ] of the driver to note down previous settings such as IP- address of the telephone system, user name, extension, password, COM-Port or similar information. With some drivers this step is ( e.g. Not necessary for Elmeg- telephones with USB- connection). Close all dialogs.
  3. Unzip this Zip- file eg on the desktop, click the unzipped file [TAPI_zu_Default_Providers.bat] then with the right mouse button on, choose [A run as administrator ] and confirm all queries. This will result in your TAPI-driver- registration being reset.
  4. Then “Telefon und Modem (Systemsteuer) ”opens automatically. Click on the tab [ extended ] and then up [H add ], add your new driver and make the necessary settings again.
  5. Make sure to restart the PC afterwards.

Brief instructions level 3 (de- and reinstallation of the driver ):

  1. If steps 1 to 2 do not lead to the desired result ( e.g. typical for TAPI120), you have to uninstall the driver by pressing the Windows- key, then simply the word “ programs " type and then over it “Add or Remove Programs ( System Settings)”Click. Then you have to find the driver, click and [ Uninstall ]. Please make sure beforehand that you have the installation package for reinstallation. You can find most of the drivers under https://tapicall.de/tapi-treiber/
  2. Quit Outlook.
  3. Unzip this Zip- file eg on your desktop, click the unzipped file [TAPI_zu_Default_Providers.bat] then with the right mouse button on, choose [A run as administrator ] and confirm all queries. This causes the TAPI-Driver- registration to be reset. Please simply close the dialog “Telefon und Modem ”that opens.
  4. Reinstall the driver in the current version.
  5. If the configuration of the driver does not appear automatically after the installation, open Telephone and modem for example by pressing the Windows-key, then simply the word “Modem ” tap and then select “ telephone and modem ( system control ) ”. Click on the tab [ extended ], select your driver by double-clicking it [ Configure ].
  6. Make sure to restart the PC afterwards.
