Which Office version do I use:
Older Outlook - versions are always in 32-bit. If you are using Outlook 2019, 2021, 2024 or 365 (classic) and want to know the exact version, click on [File], [Office-Account] and on [Info to Outlook] in Outlook. If 32-Bit appears in the first line, you can use TAPICall. If it says 64Bit, please proceed as described under Solution.
Explanation:
Support for the 64-Bit-Office- variant is not possible, as Microsoft does not allow extensions to the extent of TAPICall. Microsoft itself recommends Office 32Bit to use Add-ins and makes it clear that there is no difference in performance, except when using Excel-spreadsheets over 2GB in size.
Solution:
Uninstall the existing Office 64-Bit (incl. Teams, Notes and Copilot) via [Programs and functions] and install the 32-Bit version. To install, log in to www.office.com and select [Install apps], [More installation options], [Display apps and devices] and select „32Bit“ under Version. After clicking on [Office Install] you are ready to go. You do not need to back up any data beforehand! All settings, signatures, E-mails etc. are retained. If you prefer the quick option, simply install via this link: officesetup_32-bit.exe
The process does not take 5 minutes (vgl. Video).
To stay with Outlook Classic, which is supported by Microsoft until at least 2029, please execute this Bat- file and then restart your PC: Registry_ändern_zu_Outlook_Classic. Just for completeness, you can undo the change with this file: Registry_ändern_zu_Outlook_New
There is a special feature after switching! You can start both versions at the same time! If you start Outlook Classic, TAPICall will also start. You can then start Outlook (new) and use both at the same time!
